John Vos, Regional Program Director of QR Calgary and 630 CHED, retired from his role at Corus Entertainment on July 11th. Anyone who had the pleasure of working with.

John shares many of the same sentiments about him — his passion for radio, his level-headed and calm leadership, and his dedication to the teams in Calgary and Edmonton is incomparable. In his more than 20 years with Corus, John was a friend and mentor to many and was instrumental in forming the next generation of leaders. Those who have watched and learned from him have benefitted from his strong knowledge of the communities in Calgary and Edmonton, and his journalistic principles.

His influence on talk radio and television news in Alberta is immeasurable. John’s extensive experience has been invaluable in guiding the next generation of broadcasters through numerous milestones, successes, and challenges. He navigated the many complexities of the COVID-19 pandemic, both on the air and behind the scenes, and provided guidance through countless elections and breaking news events, always steering the team through any obstacles. John was also pivotal in securing rights agreements with the Edmonton Oilers, Edmonton Elks and Calgary Stampeders – forging important community partnerships that produce great content while generating significant revenue.

Prior to his role at radio, John was the managing editor at Global Calgary.

He was passionate about serving the community and was Chairman of the Board of the Calgary Children’s Foundation and previous president of the board of the Western Association of Broadcasters.
