RTDNA Canada Membership

We have streamlined the membership application process to allow for greater involvement in RTDNA Canada. A new pricing structure will allow all members of a single news organization to join. If you are not covered under our new multi or single platform offers, you are still able to join with a Regular or Associate Membership.

Membership Categories

For the first time, memberships are being offered to single and multi platform/market news organizations. All news related employees of those organizations will qualify for membership in RTDNA Canada. Check with your news organization to see if you’re covered.

Member – $136

Any journalist employed by a news operation (including freelancers) at any Digital, Radio and/or Television platform and who is actively engaged in the preparation and/or presentation of news for broadcasting/publishing shall be eligible for Regular Membership.

Associate Member – $136

Any person who does not qualify for Regular membership, but whose employment includes the provision of services to the broadcast news profession or who is employed in a public relations capacity, shall be eligible for an Associate membership in the Association, as may be approved by the Board. This is a non-voting membership.

Educational Member – $136

Persons in accredited Universities and Colleges in Canada with Broadcast Journalism Programs shall be eligible for an Educational Membership in the Association. *Important your membership costs will be deducted from your conference fee should you choose to attend.

Retiree Member – $50

Any person who has retired from a career in broadcast journalism or a career associated with broadcast journalism, and who has been a member of RTDNA Canada for at least five (5) years, shall be eligible for a Retiree membership in the Association, as may be approved by the Board. And if you are willing to be a judge in our awards competition, we’ll waive your membership fee!

Student Member – free

Any person enrolled in a post-secondary educational institution which has been recognized by the Board of Directors of the Association, shall be eligible for a Student membership in the Association, as may be approved by the Board.

Applications, with the appropriate membership fee, must be submitted to the RTDNA Canada and must include a pledge by the applicant that he or she will adhere to the Association’s Code of Ethics. The acceptance of any individual as a member in any category may be subject to review and approval by the Board of Directors of the Association.
