RTDNA Canada recognizes Craig Wallebeck with an Prairie Region Lifetime Achievement Award

About Craig

For almost 45 years Craig has worked as a Broadcast Journalist across Canada from British Columbia to Ontario.  His early career had him working on both radio and T.V. as a reporter and anchor.  As with most that began their careers at that time, he did everything.

Craig has covered local news of every type.  From Provincial Legislatures to school auditoriums.  Elections, fires, natural disasters, and local events that define communities.  Craig has also hosted feature programs and public affair shows; he has anchored live election night coverage and, early in his career, did colour commentary on hockey broadcasts.

After getting six markets under his belt, he moved to Regina to CKRM where he eventually became News Director and hosted a daily call-in show featuring Federal and Provincial politicians and even some international celebrities. He also served as RTDNA Prairie Director of Radio for 3 years. In 2013 he decided to move to Yorkton to GX94 as morning News Anchor and Senior Reporter.  He continues to bring his skills and lifetime of knowledge every day to his job of delivering news that informs the listener.  At the same time, he brings that skill set and mentorship ability to a staff that includes young reporters at the start of their career who benefit greatly from his wealth of experience.

Craig is married to Susan and raised two sons.
