Karen MacDonald

As a journalist, news anchor, publisher-owner of the Quebec Chronicle-Telegraph (1993-2007) and station manager at Global News television stations in both Quebec City and Montreal (2006-2024).

Karen Macdonald spent her entire career working to support and enhance English-speaking media in Quebec. A graduate of Concordia University’s Communication Studies program, Karen has mentored and supported countless of young journalists from Montreal, Quebec City and around the world.

Today she funds the Karen Macdonald Award in journalism at Concordia.  Upon her retirement in April, 2024  Corus Entertainment announced the Karen Macdonald Diversity Scholarship awarded annually by the RTDNF. 

Karen is vice-chair of the board of United Way Centraide Canada and chair of the board of the Greater Montreal Foundation.
