In partnership with Google – RTDNA holding an information – networking session on AI and YouTube for journalists!

This new initiative is an extension RTDNA’s mandate to educate, support, and promote journalists and journalism in Canada. 

It is open to ALL JOURNALISTS INCLUDING STUDENTS! 

Schedule of Events: 

10:00 AM – 11:30 AM | Module 1: AI for Journalism (90 minutes)

In this 90-minute Google News Initiative training, we will go through an initial intro of Google’s approach to news and move to explore how AI can assist in the newsroom. The session covers practical skills in prompting, content creation, research, and analysis using Gemini, NotebookLM, and Pinpoint, concluding with a look at AI detection using SynthID.

11:30 AM – 12:30 PM | Module 2: Video & YouTube Strategy (60 minutes)

The Future of News on YouTube

Viewer behaviours and preferences are rapidly transforming global news consumption. In this hour-long session, we’ll share the latest products, strategies and case studies that traditional and next-gen creators and newsrooms are harnessing to make YouTube a core part of their business.
