Gen Z and Millennials are least likely to depend on traditional platforms for their primary news. This panel will explore innovations in storytelling during the pandemic, from digital publishers to podcasters, and examine how journalists can reach younger audiences and connect with a new generation of news consumers.

Anja Karadeglija is a parliamentary reporter at the National Post, where she covers Canadian politics and digital platform regulation. She sits on the board of directors of the Canadian Association of Journalists. 


Emily Anne Epstein is the Director of Content for Narcity Media. Previously, she was the Executive News Editor for Bustle, a Senior Editor at The Atlantic, and the Managing Editor of The New York Observer. 


GabrielSands is a Senior Partnerships Manager at reddit, where he focuses on news and journalism partners. Previously, he was a Marketing Director at Refinery29. 


Kathryn Hudson has spent over 15 years building communities and showcasing dynamic stories, having worked first as a print and digitally-focused journalist and editor, later as a content strategist and consultant, and now as the lead for media partnerships at TikTok in Canada. 


Avneet Dhillon is a Producer with the CBC News social media and audience team. She currently leads vertical video storytelling on Snapchat Discover.
